Centered on the general theme, “Tahanan,” Lingg Month 2026 also commemorates the 10th anniversary of the fire that ravaged the Faculty Center, the former home of our department, and reaffirms our right to a dignified home for our institutional growth and development.\n\nAug 28 (Fri): Department Welcome Assembly\nHealth & Wellness Center, 4:00-6:00 PM\nOpen to the new and continuing students of the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as the faculty and staff of the Department.\n\nSep 02 (Wed): Lexicon Unpacked: Tahanan\nOnline, 6:00-8:00 PM\nAn online event that aims to unravel the meaning, usage, and context of terminologies related to tahanan, which are considered important for the history and culture of the community that uses them.\n\nSep 10 (Thu): Mimiayam: Mga Tala mula sa Fildwurk ng Lingg 225 sa Baybaying Pangasinan\nHealth & Wellness Center, 1:00-4:00 PM\nA roundtable discussion featuring notes from the recent field research work in Pangasinan, highlighting the results of fieldwork, best practices in doing linguistic field research, as well as the challenges encountered by researchers in the field.\n\nSep 15 (Tue): Geolinguistic research of Austronesian languages (LSLS No. 4)\nHealth & Wellness Center, 1:00-2:30 PM\nA lecture that discusses current trends in conducting research that delves into the interface of language and geography, space, and human environment, specifically in the context of languages belonging to the Austronesian language family, to be delivered by Dr. Atsuko Kanda Utsumi of Meisei University.\n\nSep 16 (Wed): Doon po sa Amin: Ugnayan ng Identidad, Karapatang Pantao, Lupa, at Wika\nHealth & Wellness Center, 1:00-4:00 PM\nA roundtable discussion that aims to gather academics, experts, and advocates who have engagements with indigenous and local communities across the country to talk about issues on land rights, indigenous knowledge systems, and homeland.\n\nSep 17 (Thu): Tahanan: Sanctuary or Cage?
