SUMMARY:“Exploring the Earth and Terrestrial Planets Using Satellite Data”
DESCRIPTION:\n\n🌍🛰️ Meet our Resource Speaker! 🚀\n\nWe are excited to introduce Emmanuel Soliman M. Garcia, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the National Institute of Physics, University of the Philippines Diliman, as our resource speaker for the upcoming KaSaMa Teachers Community webinar, “Exploring the Earth and Terrestrial Planets Using Satellite Data.”\n\nA geophysicist and planetary physicist, Dr. Garcia specializes in lithosphere geodynamics and studies the forces that shape and deform the crust of Earth, as well as those of other terrestrial planets and moons. 🌎🪐\n\nHe is also the Principal Investigator of the Spatial Computing in Earth, Ocean, and Planetary Systems team under the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Physics. His research has contributed to international collaborative efforts to better understand subduction processes, slow earthquakes, oceanic plate bending, and crustal deformation.\n\nHis academic and research journey spans UP Diliman, Italy, the United States, and Japan, including the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego, and Kyoto University. His work has also involved international research collaborations on Earth and planetary processes. 🌏🌐\n\n✨ With his expertise in Earth and planetary physics, Dr. Garcia will take us on a fascinating journey into how satellite data and scientific observations can help us better understand our planet and the worlds beyond it.\n\n📅 September 12, 2026 (Saturday)\n⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.\n📍 LIVE on the KaSaMa Teachers Community Facebook Page\n\n🚀 Don’t miss this exciting learning experience!
