Animal Care and Use Training (2022) Phase 3 (Hands-On Animal Handling Training)

The Animal Care and Use Training (2022), hosted by the UP Manila Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), is a 3-phase multimodal seminar-training for students and professionals who are doing or practicing biomedical research in the academe, government, and private institution.

Phase 1: Online Basic Training
March 28, 2022, to April 22, 2022
Self-paced, Asynchronous, Canvas
On animal welfare, legal bases, and the institutional animal care and use committee
Registration Fee
UP Manila Participants - Free
Non-UP Manila Participants - Php 500

*The last day of registration and payment for Phase I will be on March 23, 2022 (Wednesday).

Phase 2: Special Topics in Animal Research
April 30, 2022 (Saturday)
Webinar, Synchronous, Zoom
On ethical consideration, biomedical research, and animal handling (theory)
Registration Fee
UP Manila Participants - Php 1,000
Non-UP Manila Participants - Php 1,500

*The last day of payment for Phase II will be on April 15, 2022 (Friday).

Phase 3: Hands-on Animal Handling Training
May 28, 2022 (Saturday) (and June 4, 2022 [Sat; Tentative])
Multidisciplinary Laboratory, College of Medicine, UP Manila
On animal restraint, blood collection, drug administration, and necropsy
Registration Fee
UP Manila Participants - Php 1,500
Non-UP Manila Participants - Php 2,000

*The Phase 3 is a a first-come, first-served basis and will allow only 32 participants.

*CPD applies for Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, Medical Technologist, Chemist, Nurse, and Veterinarian!
