The UP Law Center Institute of Human Rights (UP IHR) invites the public to an online webinar titled, Beyond the Silence: Establishing a Legal and Ethical Framework for Philippine Surrogacy, to be held via Zoom on 9 March 2026 (Monday) from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Currently, the rapid evolution of reproductive technologies has outpaced the development of comprehensive legal frameworks in the Philippines, leaving marginalized women vulnerable to exploitation within a regulatory vacuum. The webinar thus seeks to analyze domestic legal gaps, examine shifting ASEAN regional precedents, and usher a discussion on balancing reproductive autonomy with human rights and medical ethics.

This event is open to policymakers, legal and medical professionals, advocates, students, and all individuals interested in the legal and ethical complexities of surrogacy.
