"The force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things...it binds the galaxy together.", Obi-Wan Kenobi once told Luke Skywalker. We, too, are empowered and bound to each other by the planet we live on. In this next webinar hosted by the College of Science Lecture Series in the University of the Philippines-Baguio, “Exploring Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) in Conservation”, the interwoven nature of issues in the society and environmental conservation are probed.

Like the Jedi Knights, guardians of peace and order in the Star Wars galaxy, we join the speaker Ms. Socorro Martha Meg-ay Daupan, as she shares her experiences as the Program Manager for the University of Michigan-Yale School of Environment Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program. The role of diverse representation in designing equitable and sustainable solutions will be discussed, as conservation has always been the socio-ecological responsibility of all.
