DESCRIPTION:UP-CIDS and MSU Tawi-Tawi mounts international conference on the Sulu Archipelago\n\nThe University of the Philippines – Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP-CIDS) and Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO) in Bongao\, Tawi-Tawi are mounting a historic transdisciplinary international conference\, which will bring together a diverse group of scholars to discuss relevant issues\, including the role of the Sulu Archipelago in the dynamics of nation-building in the region and the existing cultural\, ecological\, and socio-economic currents that flow through its maritime border zone today\, among others.\n\nSlated to happen from 12-14 November 2024 in Bongao\, Tawi-Tawi\, the international conference is in partnership with the Philippine Studies Association (PSA\, Inc.)\, with support from the Australian National University (ANU) Philippines Institute. Angelo Jimenez\, President of the University of the Philippines (UP)\, is set to deliver a message during the opening program. Atty. Basari Mapupuno\, President of Mindanao State University (MSU)\, is also expected to share a message.\n\nUP will also be holding a panel discussion on the Archipelagic Ocean Virtual University (AOVU) during the conference.
