This session aims to shift the focus from traditional lecture-based teaching to a collaborative conversation\, drawing upon research in decolonizing education\, multilingual instruction\, and culturally responsive teaching.\n\nParticipants will engage in interactive discussions exploring how language policies affect learner participation and learning in mathematics. The webinar will offer practical\, research-backed strategies\, including translanguaging techniques\, to leverage the multilingual nature of learners. Real-world applications and authentic learning and assessment activities designed to bridge the gap between abstract mathematical concepts and learners’ daily lives will also be introduced.
