SUMMARY:Dulaang UP’s “Mga Anak ng Unos”
DESCRIPTION:#DUPMgaAnakNgUnos: Dalawang dula ng danas sa krisis pangklima\n\nSA GITNA NG DIGMAAN NG MGA MAHIWAGANG NILALANG LABAN SA SANGKATAUHAN\nwritten by Joshua Lim So\nDirection José Estrella\n\nThis play follows the bathalas and other mythological creatures amidst a war waged against humans for destroying the sacred earth. These are not mere moral tales. The narratives illustrate how cultural communities and indigenous peoples have historically navigated the complexities of the earth.\n\nCLIMATE IN CRAZIES\nDevised from David Finnigan’s “Scenes from the Climate Era”\nDirection Issa Manalo Lopez and Tess Jamias\n\nThis play documents the climate crisis as it exists beyond two extremes: an idealized portrayal of nature\, and a grim\, apocalyptic vision. “Climate in Crazies” is a conversation that intersects mythology and scientific data on the climate crisis we now collectively face.\n\nIBG-KAL Theater\nUniversity of the Philippines Diliman\n‼️OPENING THIS WEEK‼️\n\nMarch 28\, April 4\, 11 (7:30 PM)\nMarch 29\, April 5\, 12 (2:30 PM & 7:30 PM)\nMarch 30\, April 6\, 13 (10:30 AM & 2:30 PM)\n\n🎟️ DIRECT PURCHASE: bit.ly/MgaAnakNgUnosTickets \n🎟️ TICKET2ME: ticket2me.net/event/22217\n🎟️ TICKETMELON: ticketmelon.com/dulaang-up/mga-anak-ng-unos\n\nIn partnership with:\nGreenpeace Philippines\n\nMedia partners:\nAgimat\nMANILA BULLETIN\nNews5\nPhilippine Collegian\nPhilippine Star\nSINEGANG.ph\nWhen In Manila\n\nOrganizational partners:\nPhilippine Movement for Climate Justice\nDLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild\nMaroon FM\nProject Kalikhasan\nUP Run Club\nYouth Climate Navigators\nThe Third Space UP Diliman\nPoster Design: Pliny Del Rio\, Jada Bartolome\, Jien Santiago\, Yvette Fornal\n\nSource: Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (DUP Official Page) Facebook

SUMMARY:TOMORROW AT PAROLA: PUTIK AT PAPEL Exhibit

Using soil collected from various regions as a primary medium\, the goal is to present diverse art styles that bring Cordilleran folklore to life. SUMMARY:CSC Research Lecture: The Baguio Soundscape Project: A Preliminary Critical Sound Map of the City (Meamo)
DESCRIPTION:FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC\n\nThe Cordillera Studies Center is inviting everyone to a hybrid format lecture with Benjamin George P. Meamo III on 8 April 2025 (Tuesday)\, 1:30 pm onwards\, at the CSS AVR\, UP Baguio. Join us!\n\nYou may attend online via Zoom by registering through the link below:\nhttps://bit.ly/MeamoCSCLec\n\nF2F attendees also welcome! Please pre-pregister through:\nhttps://bit.ly/F2FMeamoCSCLec\n\nABSTRACT\n\nThe Baguio Soundscape Project is a preliminary critical sound map of the City of Baguio\, Philippines. Using Milena Droumeva’s (2017) three-pronged frames of reference in doing critical sound map\, the study seeks to present the soundscape of Baguio and discuss how lived experiences in an urban space can be defined through sound. Using data collected from field recordings\, photographs\, sound diaries\, and focus group discussions (FGD) with 15 participants who were either born and raised or have lived for more than six (6) months in the city\, the research identified eight (8 ) themes that constitute the Baguio soundscape.\n\nThese themes show how the city is experienced\, occupied\, and lived in through sound. The findings argue that through the frames of listening publics\, maps grammar\, and recording cultures (Droumeva 2017)\, the Baguio Soundscape Project offers a critical sound map which encourages social participation\, emancipation\, and creativity when listening into and recording our lived experiences in the city.\n\nSource: Cordillera Studies Center UP Baguio Facebook
