DESCRIPTION:Ang Tubig\, na Tahanan\n\nIsang pangwakas na eksibit mula sa Paglayag at Paglaya Program ng Concerned Artists of the Philippines\, UP CSWCD Research and Extension for Development Office (REDO) at mga Komunidad ng Mangingisda ng Pamalakaya\n\nSimula pa noong 2024\, naging katuwang ng Concerned Artists of the Philippines ang Pamalakaya sa paglulubog ng mga artista ng bayan sa mga komunidad ng mangingisda. Dito lubos na napag-aaralan ang malubhang kondisyon ng nasabing sektor—ang panganib sa kanilang kabuhayan at tirahan dulot ng lumalalang kondisyon ng Laguna de Bay at Manila Bay\, dahil na rin sa mga reclamation projects at dredging na isinasagawa sa kanilang lugar.\n\nSa suporta ng Office of Extension Coordination\, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development\, napalawig ng CAP at UP CSWCD REDO ang programang ito bilang Paglayag at Paglaya\, kung saan nagsagawa ang organisasyon ng mga art workshop sa mga kabataan ng komunidad. DESCRIPTION:THIS APRIL AT PAROLA 🐻🇰🇷\nHERE DOWON II: THE FOUNDING OF JOSEON\nA Solo Exhibition by Jungyeon Seo\n​\nWelcoming the month of April\, the UP Korea Research Center\, with the support of the Korean Women’s Association\, and the UP Fine Arts Gallery (Parola) of the UP College of Fine Arts cordially invite you to a special exhibit of traditional Korean painting by contemporary artist and Jinchaewa painter Jungyeon Seo.\n​\nTitled Here Dowon II: The Founding of Joseon\, the exhibit is part of the UP KRC’s 10th anniversary celebration as a UP Systemwide Korean studies hub dedicated to fostering Philippines-Korea academic and cultural exchanges.\n​\nThe exhibit puts the spotlight on Jinchaehwa\, or more commonly known as Minhwa\, a tradition of Korean true-color painting and a style of art that uses delicate\, deep\, and rich pigments\, often applied to silk or paper. A practitioner of this traditional art\, Ms. Seo is currently finishing her master’s program at the College of Creative Humanities and Arts of Hansung University in ​ Seoul.\n​\nThe exhibit opens at 4:00 p.m. on April 14 (Tuesday) and will run until the 16th of May\, 2026.\n​\nFREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC\n​\nThe UP Fine Arts Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday\, 9 AM to 4 PM at the Arts and Design West Hall\, College of Fine Arts\, Diliman\, Quezon City. A convocation in honor of Renato Constantino and current global and national issues blazing in the news today.\n\nWhat is behind the country’s persistent underdevelopment and what explains the acceleration of industrialization among our neighbors? What are the links closely binding decolonization and decarbonization and how do these shape our people’s aspiration to industrialize today? What is the relevance of Philippine history with regard to fossil economy-triggered conflicts in West Asia\, territorial disputes in contested international waters\, and the worsening climate crisis? What is the relevance today of Renato Constantino and Letizia Roxas Constantino and why did they dedicate their lives to advance the cause of nationalism and partisan scholarship in the Philippines?\n\nThese questions and more will be addressed at the event\, which will be held at the UP College of Media and Communication on April 18 from 2-5pm.
