The threat is described as “existential” as there are concerns that survival of humanity itself hangs in the balance. There are multiple and complex pathways for negative impacts on health from food security to injuries from disasters and catastrophic events. Slow onset events (SOE) like rising sea levels will have serious consequences on archipelagos like the Philippines.  Meanwhile\, abrupt changes brought about by disasters\, emergencies and pandemics can threaten health security overnight. How do we prepare for these scenarios?  What is the role of health sector in climate action?\n\nIn this episode of STOP COVID DEATHS\, we deviate a little from the usual format and welcome a partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to discuss climate and health security — as we reflect on the post-COVID era. What have we learned?  What can we do better?\n\nIn a more formal run of show\, we will open with a message from ADB Principal Health Specialist for Southeast Asia Development\, Dr. Eduardo Banzon\, who oversees the work of the bank in 11 countries and has prioritized climate and health in its workplan.  The main presenter is Dr. Susan Mercado\, Co-chair of the National Panel of Technical Experts of the Philippine Climate Change Commission and recently appointed Co-editor and Regional Adviser for Asia and the Pacific for The British Medical Journal.  Reaction will be given by Dr. Teodoro J. Herbosa\, Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the UP Philippine General Hospital. Closing Remarks will be delivered by Dr. Stella Marie L.
