We recognize that frontline healthcare workers\, often the first point of contact for patients\, play a pivotal role in identifying individuals who may benefit from these interventions. In this week’s episode\, we will attempt to address the critical need for a nuanced understanding of the physiological\, pharmacological\, and procedural aspects of fertility preservation.\n\nOur distinguished speakers are some of the leading reproductive endocrinology and infertility experts from the Philippines. They will discuss into the intricacies of ovarian reserve assessment\, including the utility of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) testing and antral follicle count (AFC) via transvaginal ultrasonography. They will elucidate the various fertility preservation techniques\, such as oocyte cryopreservation\, ovarian tissue cryopreservation\, and embryo cryopreservation\, detailing the indications\, procedures\, and potential outcomes associated with each modality. We will also explore the impact of medical conditions\, including oncologic diagnoses requiring gonadotoxic therapies\, and non-malignant conditions like endometriosis and premature ovarian insufficiency\, on female fertility. In addition\, we will discuss the ethical considerations surrounding fertility preservation\, including informed consent\, long-term storage\, and the psychosocial implications for patients.\n\nOur main speaker this week is Dr. Virgilio M. Novero\, Jr.\, who holds the position of Professor V at the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility\, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology\, UP College of Medicine. He is also the Scientific Director of the Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine and Infertility\, St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City as well as the Founding President of the Philippine Society for Fertility Preservation. She is also a Board Member of the Philippine Society for Fertility Preservation.\n\nJoin us as we foster a collaborative approach to reproductive healthcare\, ensuring that women are empowered to preserve their fertility and maintain control over their reproductive destinies.

SUMMARY:KaSaMa Teachers Webinar: From the Ground Up: Contextualization for Inclusive Math Education
From the Ground Up: Contextualization for Inclusive Mathematics Education\, addresses the disconnect many learners feel between mathematics and their lived experiences. Despite its reputation as a universal language\, mathematics often remains culturally and linguistically distant for learners\, particularly in multilingual environments like Philippine classrooms. This session aims to shift the focus from traditional lecture-based teaching to a collaborative conversation\, drawing upon research in decolonizing education\, multilingual instruction\, and culturally responsive teaching.\n\nParticipants will engage in interactive discussions exploring how language policies affect learner participation and learning in mathematics. The webinar will offer practical\, research-backed strategies\, including translanguaging techniques\, to leverage the multilingual nature of learners. Real-world applications and authentic learning and assessment activities designed to bridge the gap between abstract mathematical concepts and learners’ daily lives will also be introduced. The goal is to equip teachers with actionable strategies that can make mathematics more engaging\, accessible\, and relevant\, fostering inclusive learning experiences one lesson at a time.\n\n🗓️ Save the date! Join us on 29 March 2025\, Saturday\, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\n\nThis knowledge-filled webinar is brought to you by the KaSaMa Teachers Community. FLORIDA F. TALADTAD\nAssociate Professor 2\, Department of Anatomy\nUP College of Medicine\nActive Consultant\, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology\, Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital\nFellow\, Philippine Infectious Diseases Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology\, Inc.\n\nReactor:\nDR. RAFAEL C. BUNDOC\nFormer Chair\, Department of Anatomy\, UP College of Medicine\nActive Consultant\, Division of Spine Surgery\, Department of Orthopedics\,\nUP – Philippine General Hospital\n\n———————————————————–\n\nWebinar #232\nMarch 28\, 2025 (Friday)\, 12:00 noon\nBagong Pananaw sa Pag-aaral ng Anatomiya\nInnovating Medical Education\n\nIn the dynamic landscape of modern medicine\, a foundational understanding of human anatomy remains paramount. However\, traditional methods of gross anatomy instruction\, often reliant on rote memorization and cadaveric dissection\, may not always align with the evolving needs of contemporary healthcare professionals. In this week’s episode\, we will demystify complex anatomical concepts and provide practical insights that can be immediately applied in clinical practice.\n\nOur esteemed speakers\, who are seasoned anatomy professors with extensive experience in medical education\, will discuss the integration of novel technologies and pedagogical strategies that are revolutionizing the way gross anatomy is taught and learned. We will examine the implementation of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) platforms\, which provide immersive and interactive experiences\, allowing for detailed visualization and manipulation of anatomical structures. These technologies bridge the gap between abstract concepts and tangible clinical relevance\, facilitating a deeper understanding of spatial relationships and anatomical variations.\n\nIn addition\, we will explore the utilization of 3D printing in anatomical modeling\, enabling the creation of patient-specific replicas for pre-surgical planning and educational purposes. This approach fosters a more nuanced appreciation for anatomical complexity and its implications for clinical decision-making. We will also discuss the integration of problem-based learning (PBL) and case-based learning (CBL) into the curriculum\, emphasizing the application of anatomical knowledge to real-world clinical scenarios. This methodology encourages critical thinking and enhances the ability to translate anatomical understanding into effective patient care.\n\nAs we continue the celebration of National Women’s Month\, we are putting a spotlight on one of the emerging anatomy professors in the country: Dr. Florida F. Taladtad\, who is an associate professor at the Department of Anatomy of the UP College of Medicine. Our reactor is Dr. Rafael C. Bundoc\, who is a former chairperson of the Department of Anatomy at the UP College of Medicine and is an active consultant of the Division of Spine Surgery\, Department of Orthopedics\, UP – Philippine General Hospital.\n\nJoin us this week so you can be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of human anatomy with confidence and precision\, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and a deeper appreciation for the human form.
