In the dynamic landscape of healthcare, the Philippine Genome Center (PGC) stands at the forefront of groundbreaking advancements, spearheading a transformative era in medicine that promises tailored solutions for every Filipino. Genomics and its applications, performed at the PGC, provide insights into how this revolutionary science is contributing to precise and effective healthcare interventions. From unraveling the genetic basis of diseases to crafting personalized treatment plans, genomics holds the promise of “saktong lunas“ for every Filipino, ensuring that healthcare is not just universal but tailored to individual needs.

In our first episode for the year 2024, our esteemed panel of experts will discuss the pivotal role that genomics plays in reshaping the practice of medicine across the Philippines. As we navigate an era of personalized healthcare, understanding the unique genetic makeup of individual Filipinos has become an indispensable tool in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

Our main presenter is Dr. Eva Maria C. Cutiongco – De La Paz, who concurrently serves as the Director, Health program of the Philippine Genome Center and also as the Executive Director of the National Institutes of Health, University of the Philippines Manila. Our reactor is Dr. Felicitas L. Lacbawan, who is the Executive Director of the Philippine Genome Center.

Join us as we explore the journey from research to real-world applications, showcasing how genomics is not just a scientific breakthrough but a practical solution for addressing the healthcare challenges faced by our diverse population in order to ensure that no Pinoy is left behind without the precise care they deserve.
