📚ABSTRACT
Male and female workers have different choice of jobs depending on their characteristics and role at home. The aim of this research is to identify the factors affecting the choice of occupation of Filipino workers using regression analysis.
Individual characteristics such as gender, age and schooling as well as regional characteristics are significant factors affecting the choice of jobs. Importantly, educated male workers relative to educated female workers are significantly more likely to work in manufacturing, retail and trade, and community and social and personal services.
Improved infrastructure is an important factor that could integrate more women in the labor market.
[Key words: job choice, occupation, education, gender, Filipinos]
