Making Dreams of Conception a Reality!

Infertility, a condition affecting millions globally, presents a significant challenge for couples aspiring to parenthood. In this week’s episode, we will try to learn about infertility and the increasingly prevalent assisted reproductive technology (ART) known as in vitro fertilization (IVF). We will discuss the multifaceted nature of infertility, exploring its various causes, including both male and female factors. We will gain insights into the physiological processes involved in reproduction and how disruptions at various stages can lead to infertility. We will discuss common diagnostic methods employed to evaluate infertility, such as hormonal assays, semen analysis, and imaging techniques like hysterosalpingography.

Our main presenter is Dr. Gia C. Pastorfide, who is a Clinical Associate Professor from the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility of the UP-PGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our reactor is Dr. Gizelle Samonte-Alfonso, who holds the position of Medical Specialist II as a Gynecologic Oncologist from the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Ilocos Norte.
