Yokohama in the Asian Independence Movement: Sun Yat Sen, Mariano Ponce, and Artemio Ricarte

The UP Center for International Studies invites you to two public lectures on February 11 (Tuesday), 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM, at Classroom C, Benton Hall, UP Diliman.

Prof. Hiroshi Onishi, Professor Emeritus of Ferris University will give a lecture on “Yokohama in the Asian Independence Movement: Sun Yat Sen, Mariano Ponce, and Artemio Ricarte” at 1:00 – 2:30 PM.

In the morning, there will also be a Roundtable discussion entitled, Huntahan: Locating Ponce and Ricarte in Yokohama at 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Prof. Hiroshi Onishi and Prof. Chiho Ogaya of Ferris University, Prof. Amparo Adelina Umali III and Prof. Wystan de la Peña of the University of the Philippines, and Prof. Norman Zafra of the De La Salle University will share their experiences and insights in tracing back the steps of the two leaders of the independence movement in Yokohama, Japan.

These public lectures are part of the PILAK PANAYAM, a series of lectures that is part of a range of activities celebrating the 25th year of the Center’s founding on 10 October 2000.

Ang mga pampublikong lecture na ito ay bahagi ng PILAK PANAYAM, isang serye ng mga lecture na bahagi ng hanay ng mga aktibidad na nagdiriwang ng ika-25 taon ng pagkakatatag ng Center noong 10 Oktubre 2000.
