The First Episode of “La Historia Olvidada: Filipinas-México 2025”
The Philippine Embassy in Mexico, in partnership with the Departamento ng Kasaysayan of the University of the Philippines, El Colegio de San Luis, and the Philippine-Mexico Studies Program, UNAM Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México supported by the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, invites you to the first episode of “LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS-MEXICO 2025,” a virtual colloquium series on Philippine-Mexico relations, to be held via Zoom on 21 February 2025 at 6:30-8:00 P.M., Mexico City time (22 February 2025 at 8:30-10:00 A.M., Philippine time).
The resource speaker, Dra. Nenita P. Domingo, PhD, Cultural Anthropologist at the University of California-Los Angeles, U.S.A., will talk on “Unearthing Filipinos’ Past in Mexico (Manila Galleon 1565-1815)” in English.
This colloquium series which will be streamed live via Post’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@PHinMexico/streams) aims to highlight pivotal events and contexts that have shaped the engagements between the Philippines and Mexico, spanning from the sixteenth century to the contemporary period.
