Webinar #243
June 20, 2025 (Friday), 12:00 noon
Iba Ito!
Alternative Treatments to Chronic Coronary Artery Disease
In an era characterized by an escalating global burden of cardiovascular disease, chronic coronary artery disease (CAD) continues to pose a significant public health challenge, which demands a continuous re-evaluation of therapeutic paradigms. While established pharmacological interventions and revascularization procedures remain cornerstones of management, the dynamic landscape of cardiac care necessitates a profound understanding of emerging and less conventional yet evidence-supported alternative treatment modalities.
In this week’s episode, we aim to bridge existing knowledge gaps and foster a comprehensive discourse on innovative strategies in the long-term management of chronic CAD. Our episode promises an immersive exploration into diverse therapeutic avenues beyond conventional approaches, encompassing novel pharmacological agents, advanced lifestyle interventions, and integrative therapies, all supported by contemporary scientific literature.
With us this week are Dr. John D. Añonuevo, who is a cardiology expert and the Chair of the UP-PGH Department of Medicine, and Dr. Eric Oliver D. Sison, who is the Chief of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit at the UP-PGH Department of Medicine. Their presentations will dive into the physiological underpinnings, clinical indications, efficacy, safety profiles, and patient selection criteria pertinent to these modalities, which help ensure a balanced and pragmatic perspective.
Join us in learning how to optimize patient care pathways and provide lay individuals with the crucial information needed for informed health decisions. Together, we can stop preventable deaths!
