[Peter Singer’s “Animal Liberation: Past, Present, and Future” — an Emmanuel Q. Fernando Memorial Lecture]
A little bird told me something big is on the horizon… 🐣📜
The UP Diliman Department of Philosophy returns with yet another thought-provoking lecture, an extension of the inaugural Emmanuel Q. Fernando Philosophy Undergraduate Conference held last May 5-6, 2025. This time, it brings a conversation that cuts deep into the core of ethics. 🧠💬
📆 Mark your calendars for this special installment of the Emmanuel Q. Fernando Memorial Lecture: 💡 Animal Liberation: Past, Present, and Future 💡
🎙️Our speaker this year is none other than the legendary Oxford philosopher Peter Singer, a leading voice in the global animal liberation movement and one of the world’s leading moral philosophers who recently published “Animal Liberation Now” (2023), an updated version of the 1975 classic “Animal Liberation” which swept across the world and revolutionized the way we think about animal rights.
Ready for another round of compelling philosophical discussions?💡📑 Well, hold your horses! 🐎
