“Martial Law Mobile Gallery: The Ten Essential Truths”

In line with the 53rd year marking the declaration of Martial Law, HRVVMC has partnered with the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, UP College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, UP Departamento ng Kasaysayan, and UP Diliman OICA to bring the “Martial Law Mobile Gallery: The Ten Essential Truths” to Diliman.
This interactive exhibition features the works of Martial Law survivor and Filipino Social Realist Artist Edgar “Egai” Talusan Fernandez, in collaboration with artist collective Ang Gerilya, and serves as both a form of artistic expression and an educational tool about the period of Martial Law in the Philippines from 1972 to 1986.
As a new feature, a curated selection of books from the HRVVMC Library will be showcased, focusing on themes of gender, women, Martial Law, and human rights in the Philippine context.
