We invite you to experience the visceral world of Butoh through the workshop-performance “Sisa Reimagined” by Sasa Cabalquinto, a contemporary reimagining of Sisa from Noli Me Tangere, merging Butoh, physical theatre, and ritual performance.
Date: November 19 (Wednesday), 1:00 – 5:00 PM
Venue: ASEAN Hall, UP Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman
Presented in partnership with: UP Asian Center
Register at: https://bit.ly/punlaatbinhi
The workshop is FREE and open to ages 16 and above with no necessary background in Butoh and performing arts.
This Manila leg focuses on embodied inquiry and creative process: how Butoh becomes a space for memory, transformation, and post-colonial reflection. Please note: this workshop is NOT an instructional and codified teaching of a dance “form” or technique, or a choreography class. It intends to find resonance between Butoh and Filipino embodied experience, and aims for sharing of a Butoh-informed process and embodied inquiry drawn from years of personal study and immersion in Butoh practice.
Let us move, listen, and plant new seeds of connection and creativity in UP Community!
