“Controlling Leptospira Infection: Can we achieve it?”

November 26 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The persistent and often fatal nature of leptospirosis in the Philippines, marked by recurring outbreaks, clearly demonstrates the urgent need to learn and implement more effective Leptospira control strategies. Our current approach, often reactive and hampered by environmental challenges like flooding and poor sanitation, is insufficient to significantly reduce the disease burden and protect vulnerable communities. Therefore, mastering and integrating proactive public health, veterinary, and environmental management techniques is essential to save lives and alleviate strain on the national healthcare system.

With this in mind, the Microbiology Consortium of the Philippines, Inc. together with the Philippine Association of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Inc. and Phi Sigma Biological Sciences Honor Society, Philippines, Inc. are excited to announce the webinar entitled, “Controlling Leptospira Infection: Can we achieve it?”

Join us for engaging session with Dr. Sree Rajeev, a Professor of Infectious Diseases, and the Director of Bacteriology and Mycology Diagnostic Laboratory, at the Biomedical and Diagnostic Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tennessee, USA.
