Maalaala mo kaya si Jorge Vargas?
Get to know Jorge Vargas: A Children’s Workshop for the exhibition A Collecting Life

08 August 2026, Saturday | 1:30 to 4.30 PM

The UP Vargas Museum will host the third session of Maalaala mo kaya si Jorge Vargas? (Would you still remember Jorge Vargas?) an exhibition walkthrough and children’s workshop for our third floor memorabilia exhibition, A Collecting Life (Isang Buhay ng Pagtipon), on Saturday, 8 August 2026, Saturday, from 1.30 to 4.30 PM.

The project takes inspiration from past sessions, developed by students of Art Studies 284: Contexts and Platforms in Curatorial Studies taught by our head curator Tessa Maria Guazon in 2024. The sessions revolved around strategies for cultivating observation, reflection and interpretation among children who participated in the workshop.

The activities during and after the walkthrough will also prioritize the development of skills for children ages five to ten, without assistance from an adult, including counting, spelling, drawing, coloring, engaging with the visual elements of an image, recalling information, among other learning skills. The activities present the museum as a learning environment beyond the typical classroom.
