Binalot Talks “Halimaw na/ng Nakalipas: The Fossil Tigers of Palawan Island”

Ang pinakamatanda’t natatanging halimaw (harimau) sa Palawan?

This Wednesday (12 August 2026) from 12nn to 1pm, Dr. Janine Ochoa discusses their team’s recent publication on the oldest evidence (so far) of tigers in the Philippines. “Halimaw na/ng Nakalipas: The Fossil Tigers of Palawan Island” tackles the implications of their presence, as based on their fossil feet remains and bite marks on deer fossils from 22,000 to 20,000 years ago, all within the present-day ancestral domain of the Pala’wan community of Maasin.
