ABUEVA IKOTOUR: Whom Art Should Serve, a roving survey of Napoleon V. Abueva’s public art in UP Diliman

February 16 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Bulwagan ng Dangal University Heritage Museum presents ABUEVA IKOTOUR: Whom Art Should Serve, a roving survey of Napoleon V. Abueva’s public art in UP Diliman. The walking and riding tour utilizes the UP Ikot jeepney, a campus icon since the University’s transfer to Diliman in 1949.

Napoleon V. Abueva (1930–2018), the youngest recipient of the National Artist award, created many of UP Diliman’s enduring landmarks, including The Crucifix, University Gateway, Tribute to Higher Education, Siyam na Diwata ng Sining, Three Women Sewing a Flag, and Magdangal. This ikotouring exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of his conferment as National Artist.

🗓 Tour schedules:
February 9, 16, and 23 (Mondays)
1:00–4:00 PM

📌 Registration details, including QR codes and links, will be posted in a separate post, please watch out for it.

This project is part of the UP Diliman Arts and Culture Festival 2026 (UPDACF 2026), themed “Isang Unibersidad para sa Isang Inklusibo at Mapagkalingang Lipunan,” which highlights and celebrates initiatives within and beyond the UP Diliman campus that value diverse forms of knowledge, experience, and expression that shape our community.

Join us and reflect on public art, movement, and the enduring question: Whom should art serve?
