Coastal Engineering Lecture Series

The Water Resources and Coastal Engineering Group of the UP Institute of Civil Engineering invite you all to a session of the Coastal Engineering Lecture Series on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 2:00-4:00PM at the David M. Consunji Theater, UP ICE Main Building, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The event is F2F and open to everyone. No pre-registration needed.
Our 1st speaker is Mr. Tomoo Iba, Principal Engineer at Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd. in Japan. He is also the JICA Project Team Leader for the Capacity Development in Coastal Engineering for Disaster Resiliency. His lecture in on the ‘Actual Procedure of Coastal Development: Example of Coastal Development at Lingayen Coast in Pangasinan’.
Our 2nd speaker is Dr. Tomoya Shibayama, Institute Professor at Chuo University in Japan. He is also a Professor Emeritus at both Waseda University and Yokohama National University. His lecture is on ‘Coastal Engineering and its Application to Coastal Disaster Study’.
With the recent threats in our coastal areas, the lecture series is a good chance to learn more about coastal engineering.
