The Tuna Traceability Project will share policy implications and recommendations of their research. The project, “Developing a Point of Catch to Plate Traceability System for Tuna in Davao Region”, is a 2-year project solicited and funded by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).
One of the project’s major outputs is the development of a mobile traceability application which will be used to track tuna from catch to retail. The app also incorporates information regarding the food safety practices of the users. The app has already been pilot-tested among fisherfolks and traders in Mati City.
The team will present policy implications and there are invited reactors to provide feedback.
