“Global Battlefields: My Close Encounters with Dictatorship, Capital, Empire, and Love” Walden Bello Memoir Book Launch

This August 28, we are honored to host the renowned activist and scholar Walden Bello for the Baguio book launch of his memoir, Global Battlefields: My Close Encounters with Dictatorship, Capital, Empire, and Love.
Global Battlefields is a powerful memoir that traces Bello’s lifelong fight for justice, spanning his involvement in the struggle against the Marcos dictatorship, the anti-globalization movement, and his work as a legislator and scholar. Through firsthand accounts of historic moments—from the resistance in Chile to the protests in Seattle—he reflects on the victories, setbacks, and lessons learned in confronting power.
Join us for this event as Walden shares more about his life in solidarity and struggle. We are honored to have 3 reactors to his talk:
– Joanna Carino, Igorot (Ibaloi), lifelong human rights activist and the 2019 Gwangju Prize for Human Rights Laureate
– Karin Shana Codiase Bangsoy, Igorot (Kankanaey-Ibaloi) teacher and researcher at UP Baguio
