Pelvic Organ Prolapse, The Silent Burden

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) stands as a prevalent yet often overlooked condition affecting countless women worldwide. In this webinar, we will conduct a deep dive into the anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor, providing a solid foundation for understanding the dynamics leading to POP.

Our distinguished panel of speakers will elucidate the multifaceted risk factors associated with POP, ranging from childbirth trauma and hormonal changes to genetic predispositions. We will explore the latest advancements in identifying individuals at risk, allowing for proactive interventions to mitigate the progression of this condition, as well as the state-of-the-art diagnostic modalities for POP. From pelvic imaging techniques to novel biomarkers, attendees will gain insights into the array of tools available for accurate and early detection.

Our main presenter is Dr. Mary Rani M. Cadiz, who is an active consultant from the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, PGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our reactor is Dr. Lisa T. Prodigalidad-Jabson, who is founding president of the Philippine Society for Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery as well as the Chief of the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at the PGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Embark on this enlightening journey with us, as we strive to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice in the realm of pelvic organ prolapse. Together, let us unravel the complexities, foster collaboration, and pave the way for improved outcomes in the management of this significant women’s health issue. Together, we can stop preventable deaths!
