Sugat at Pasò? Aray!
Prevention and First Aid for Wounds and Burn Injuries

Burn injuries present a multifaceted challenge, encompassing not only immediate tissue damage but also complex wound care and rehabilitation processes. In our upcoming webinar, we will delve into the intricate domain of burn injuries, treatment modalities, and the crucial aspect of debunking prevalent myths and superstitious beliefs surrounding wound care.

With a focus on evidence-based practices, we will explore the physiological mechanisms underlying burn injuries, elucidating the cascade of inflammatory responses, tissue repair, and scar formation. Cutting-edge advancements in wound care, including novel dressings, regenerative therapies, and personalized treatment approaches, will be discussed, offering insights into optimizing patient outcomes and minimizing long-term sequelae. Central to our discourse is the debunking of myths and superstitious beliefs that often pervade wound care practices. By scrutinizing misconceptions surrounding topical remedies, home remedies, and alternative therapies, we aim to empower healthcare professionals and the public with accurate, science-backed knowledge. Through collaborative efforts, we endeavor to foster a culture of informed decision-making and dispel the fog of misinformation that may impede optimal wound healing.

Our main presenter is Dr. Rowena O. Sudario-Lumague, who is an active consultant from the Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Philippine General Hospital. Our reactor is Dr. Frances Ann B. Carlos, who is a Medical Specialist III from the PGH Department of Rehabilitation Medicine..
