Webinar #194
May 31, 2024 (Friday) 12nn
Fetal Programming: Improving the Next Generation
Fetal programming describes how the environment within the womb shapes an individual’s health trajectory throughout their entire life. We will discuss the intricate dance between maternal factors like nutrition, stress, and environmental exposures, and their influence on the developing fetus.
In this webinar, we will equip you with a deeper understanding of epigenetics, the process by which modifiable gene expression patterns established in utero can impact disease susceptibility later in life. We will identify the critical windows of development, those sensitive periods where interventions can have the most profound impact on a child’s future health. By the end of the episode, the audience should have gained valuable insights into the importance of nutritional programming, learning how to optimize maternal diet for fetal development and long-term health outcomes. Finally, we will explore the often-overlooked role of environmental exposures, helping you understand how toxins and pollutants can influence fetal programming.
Our main presenter is Dr. Valerie T. Guinto, who is currently the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Asian Hospital and Medical Center. She also served as Past President of the Philippine Society of Maternal and Fetal Medicine. Our reactor is Dr. Maria Esterlita V. Uy, who serves as the Director of the Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the UP Manila – National Institutes of Health.
Join us as we explore the latest research on fetal programming and its implications for clinical practice. Learn how you can empower your patients to optimize the health of future generations, right from the very beginning.
Together, let us learn about fetal programming and its potential to revolutionize healthcare for generations to come!
