Webinar #210

Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals, Plastics, and Its Health Effects:
Ano Ba Ang Dapat Nating Malaman?
Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have emerged as a significant public health concern due to their widespread prevalence in the environment and their potential to interfere with the endocrine system. Plastics, as a major source of EDCs, have become a particular focus of attention.
In this week’s episode, we will discuss the mechanisms by which EDCs can disrupt the endocrine system, leading to a range of adverse health effects. We will discuss the specific health risks associated with exposure to EDCs, particularly for vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, infants, and children. We will also explore the latest scientific evidence on the impact of EDCs on reproductive health, fetal development, and other critical physiological functions.
Our main presenter is Dr. Erlidia F. Llamas-Clark, a professor and consultant at the UP-PGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our reactor is Ms. Michelle Abendaño, who will provide the patient perspective.
Together, let us learn how to identify and address potential cases of EDC-related health issues in our patients.
Together, we can stop preventable deaths.
