Webinar #235
April 25, 2025 (Friday), 12:00 noon
Ano Ang Latest sa Pagbubuntis?
Prenatal Care in the Digital Age

As the healthcare landscape undergoes a paradigm shift towards greater accessibility and efficiency, this week’s episode will illuminate the transformative potential of digital tools in optimizing the well-being of pregnant mothers across the Philippines.

We will discuss the evidence-based applications of digital technology throughout the continuum of prenatal care. Our speakers will explore the utilization of telehealth platforms for remote consultations, thereby mitigating geographical barriers and enhancing timely access to expert medical advice. We will try to examine the utility of mobile health (mHealth) applications in facilitating patient education, medication adherence, and the remote monitoring of vital physiological parameters. In this webinar, we will address the crucial aspects of data security, patient privacy, and ethical considerations inherent in the deployment of digital health solutions. Practical strategies for the seamless integration of these technologies into existing healthcare workflows will be discussed, with a focus on user-friendliness for both healthcare providers and expectant mothers. We recognize the diverse technological literacy within our target audience, hence, we will strike a balance between scientific rigor and practical applicability to ensure that the information disseminated will be both comprehensive and readily translatable into real-world settings.

The implications of digital prenatal care extend beyond mere convenience. We aim to contribute to improved maternal and fetal outcomes, early detection of potential complications, and a more personalized and supportive pregnancy journey by empowering pregnant mothers with accessible information and facilitating closer monitoring.

Our main speaker this week is Dr. Bianca Katrina E. Villanueva, who is a certified breastfeeding specialist and a member of the Subcommittee on Breastfeeding of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. She is also an active OB-GYN consultant practicing at the Sacred Heart Hospital of Malolos and at the University of the East – Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center. Our reactor is Mrs. Leann R. Dionisio, a pregnant patient who will share her personal experiences.

Join us as we collectively strive to leverage the power of technology to enhance the health and well-being of Filipino mothers and their newborns. And together, we can stop preventable deaths!
