Genito-Urinary Complications in OB-GYN: Mga Hamon at Solusyon

The complexities inherent in the diagnosis and management of genitourinary issues, ranging from infectious etiologies and inflammatory processes to structural anomalies and systemic manifestations, necessitate a multidisciplinary approach and an updated clinical perspective. In this week’s episode, we will discuss the prevalence, risk factors, and public health implications of various OB-GYN genitourinary complications.

We will explore the latest advancements in diagnostic modalities, including advanced imaging techniques and molecular diagnostics, which are crucial for accurate and timely identification of these complex conditions. We will discuss evidence-based therapeutic interventions, ranging from pharmacological management and minimally invasive procedures to surgical corrections, as we emphasize best practices adapted for Filipino women. We will also discuss preventive strategies and long-term patient care to ensure a holistic perspective on managing chronic and recurrent genitourinary issues.

Our speakers this week both serve as Board Secretaries of the Philippine Society for Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. Our main presenter is Dr. Mary Rani M. Cadiz, who is a faculty member of the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery of the UP-PGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our reactor is Dr. Ira Dominique A. Malonzo, who is the Training Officer of the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery of the UP-PGH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
