In celebration of National Women’s Month, Museo Kordilyera invites you to INKheritage: Women, Tattoos, and Cultural Identity in the Cordillera on March 28, 10 AM, at the MK Mini-Gallery. This event explores the significance of traditional Cordilleran tattoos in shaping female identity. 🖋️✨
Ammin Acha-ur, a mambabatok (a tattoo artist who practices traditional tattooing) from Baguio City, will lead a talk on the historical and cultural meanings of traditional tattoos, especially for women, and their evolving role in contemporary society. As a 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘬, she carries forward this long-standing tradition, which has long been a marker of identity. A live demonstration of the traditional tattooing process will follow.
Avail yourselves of books and merchandise related to women, enjoy “Free Tea” & coffee, and experience a live serenade during the break!
See you there! 👋🏼
