INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES VERSION 10 (ICD-10) TRAINING COURSE FOR CODERS
15 – 19 April 2024
Shalom Hotel Manila

The Department of Health Policy and Administration (DHPA), College of Public Health (CPH), University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) will be conducting a face-to-face short course training on International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD-10) for Coders from 15 – 19 April 2024 at the Shalom Hotel Manila.

The International Classification of Disease (ICD) is the international standard diagnostic classification for all general epidemiological and many health-management purposes. It can be used to classify diseases and other health problems recorded on many health and vital records. ICD provides a variety of signs, symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, and social circumstances that may stand in place of a diagnosis on health-related records.

Furthermore, participants in this course will learn the steps in using the World Health Organization’s ICD-10 as a coding tool. The course covers 26 modules, including the definition of ICD-10, benefits derived from its usage, the history of its development, its elements and structures, the general guidelines for coding, and specific instructions for coding morbidity and mortality data.
