Thirty Juris Doctor (JD) students from UP Law and BU Law will present their case-studies on how rules of Public International Law under the Hague Conventions on apostille, service of documents abroad, child abduction, adoption, and child support, have been domesticated into the Philippine legal system as Philippine legal rules that may be applied in Philippine cases.

Event 2. Junior Scholars Symposium on Private International Law

Forty JD students from UP Law will present their case-studies on how foreign legal rights and obligations, normally not recognized under Philippine law (e.g., right to divorce, right to have a child through a surrogate, right to enter into same-sex marriage, right of same-sex spouses to jointly adopt or have joint child custody) may be enforced in Philippine cases through rules of Private International Law under the five Hague Conventions.
