“Kono Basho” Film Screening

For Jaime Pacena II’s directorial debut filmed in Rikuzentakata – a city in Japan devastated by the earthquake and tsunami of 2011, there could not be a better title than Kono Basho, Japanese for “this place.” The internationally awarded Cinemalaya feature has a repeat run for April 2025 at UPFI Film Center. As Cine Adarna – the main cinema of the UPFI Film Center – is temporarily closed with the upgrading of its aircon system, UPFI screenings are only held until further notice at the 50-seat Videotheque with films in quality mp4 format provided by respective film collaborators, partners and distributors accordingly. Cine Adarna will reopen on a still to be determined date with brand-new DCP projector and air conditioning system.

Main access to the Videotheque located on the 2nd Floor of the Ishmael Bernal Gallery is through the other entrance of UPFI Film Center along Osmeña Avenue inside UP Diliman.
