LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS-MEXICO 2024

The Embassy of the Philippines in Mexico, in partnership with the History Department of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, El Colegio de San Luis, and the Philippine-Mexico Studies Program, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), invites everyone to the first episode of LA HISTORIA OLVIDADA: FILIPINAS-MEXICO 2024, a virtual colloquium series on Philippine-Mexico relations, to be held via Zoom on 17 February 2024 at 8:30-10:00 A.M., Philippine time).

The resource speaker, Mr. Xabier Agote Aizpurua, Shipwright and Founder of Albaola Itsas Kultur Faktoria, will talk on the “Maritime Heritage as Social Development Factor and the Characteristics of the First Manila Galleon”. His presentation will be in English.

This virtual colloquium series aims to highlight pivotal events and contexts that have shaped the engagements between the Philippines and Mexico, spanning from the sixteenth century to the contemporary period.
