🏡 Placemaking Fiesta 2025 🌱

As part of UP Mindanao’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, we are proud to host Placemaking Fiesta 2025 on April 2-3, 2025, at the UP Mindanao Cultural Center, Mintal, Davao City.

Organized by the BS Architecture Arch161 (Fundamentals of Urban Design and Community Architecture) Class, this event brings together experts, students, professionals and community members from six barangays (Bago Oshiro, Manambulan, Mintal, Mulig, Sto. Nino, Tacunan) to participate in fun-filled placemaking activities, anchored upon collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Defined as community-led improvement of public spaces, this year’s Placemaking Fiesta will feature lectures and hands-on workshops on Sustainable Urban Gardening, Bamboo Construction and Community-Based Bamboo Enterprise, and Permaculture, to enhance the communities’ capacity towards sustainable cities and communities (SDG11).

This event is co-organized by the Office of Extension and Community Service, Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Mindanao, and the Department of Architecture – UP Mindanao, in collaboration with UAP Sinlayan Dabaw, SKS Interiors, Inc., and the Australia Global Alumni.
