PLUCKado: A Plucked String Festival

The UP Guitar Society, a student organization of the UP College of Music dedicated to supporting guitar students, is hosting PLUCKado: A Plucked String Festival, a year-long celebration launching on January 27–31, 2026 at the UP College of Music, UP Diliman.

The festival highlights the cultural and educational importance of plucked string instruments through performances, workshops, masterclasses, and forums. This month’s event, held in partnership with ALAMA Guitars and the UP Strings and Chamber Music Department, features indie artists Johnoy Danao and Bernard Palanca, student performers, an ALAMA Guitars exhibit, and a luthiery forum on guitar-making in the Philippines.

The week concludes with a masterclass and concert by Duo Zaher, an acclaimed Vienna-based classical guitar duo known for their international performances and teaching engagements.
