SLIS Lecture Series: “Unprude and Empowered: Embracing Our Sexual Selves”

March 20 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Along with the UP Diliman community, the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) is pleased to announce our commemoration of Women’s Month this March 2024. The theme of this year’s celebration in UP Diliman is: “Babae, Tuloy ang Arangkada! I-Phase-out ang Pahirap sa Masa”.

In honor of this, the SLIS will be hosting a lecture entitled: “Unprude and Empowered: Embracing Our Sexual Selves”. Renowned sex therapist Dr. Rica Cruz, the visionary behind Unprude, will be our resource speaker for this event.

Sexual health literacy highlights the importance of making informed choices regarding individuals’ ability to obtain, evaluate, and utilize sexual health information (Maasoumi et al., 2023). It enables individuals to exert their autonomy and take charge of their bodies, particularly in relation to sexual practices and other related concerns, while also confronting the stigma commonly linked to it. To promote this, it is necessary to encourage open discussions on sexual health and sex education. This lecture contributes to this and attempts to address important problems and concerns related to sexuality, with the aim of increasing knowledge and understanding of sexual health in the community.

The lecture will be on March 20, 2024 (Wednesday) at 2:00 PM. It will be held at Room 10 of UP SOLAIR (Bonifacio Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City). The event is open and free to all but Interested participants must register through this link: https://tinyurl.com/unprude2024
