FATTY LIVER: Why Should I Care?
Let’s talk about your liver.

Experts are noticing an increasing number of individuals who present with asymptomatic liver disease and abnormal liver profile tests. Upon examination and testing – this maybe Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) that can remain benign, but could also progress to severe disease like cirrhosis and liver failure.

What causes fatty liver? Can it be prevented? How and why can it become more serious disease? Can it be managed? When should a general practitioner refer patients with abnormal liver profiles to the specialists?

Some of the risk factors and co-morbidities of COVID-19, include the linkage of NAFLD with overweight and obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia – metabolic syndrome. It is estimated that as many as 1 out of 3 Filipinos could have fatty liver – so the question is: What can I do to reduce the risk of chronic and severe illness.

Bringing you the leading experts in gastroenterology and endocrinology- as well as the latest information globally and here in the Philippines- we will have Dr. Janus P.
