Webinar #153
“Bivalent Vaccines, Nandito Na: Ano ang Latest?

In the face of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the development and deployment of effective vaccines have emerged as crucial pillars of our global response. This webinar on bivalent vaccines for COVID-19 aims to shed light on an innovative and promising approach to combating the virus by harnessing the power of dual protection. Organized in coordination with the Department of Health, this webinar brings together esteemed speakers who will provide their collective expertise and valuable insights for a diverse audience encompassing academics, government agencies, local government units, frontline healthcare workers, hospital administrators, and lay people.

Bivalent vaccines offer a breakthrough solution by incorporating two different antigen components within a single vaccine formulation, enabling simultaneous protection against multiple strains or variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This webinar will delve into the science behind bivalent vaccines, exploring their mechanisms of action, safety profiles, and efficacy against emerging variants.

This webinar will address the implications of bivalent vaccines on vaccine distribution strategies, public health policies, and the coordinated effort required to achieve equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. By examining the benefits and challenges associated with bivalent vaccines, this webinar aims to foster a comprehensive understanding among attendees and inspire collaborative efforts towards their implementation.

Our main speakers are Hon. Teodoro J. Herbosa, Secretary of the Department of Health, and Dr. Beverly Ho, who serves as Assistant Secretary for the Public Health Services Team of the Department of Health. Our other speakers are Dr. Franco Felizarta, who is an infectious diseases specialist based in California, USA and Dr. Nina Gloriani, vaccines expert and former Dean of the UP Manila College of Public Health. The Synthesis and Closing Remarks will be delivered by the Head of the PGH Office of Expanded Education and Training, Dr. Stella Marie L. Jose.

Become part of a dynamic dialogue that aims to shape the future of COVID-19 vaccination strategies. Together, we can pave the way for a safer and healthier world, where bivalent vaccines play a vital role in curbing the impact of COVID-19.

Together, we can STOP C.O.V.I.D. DEATHS!
