Webinar #157
“Ayos Ka Ba, Tiyan?”
Advances and Updates in Gastroenterology
The world of gastroenterology is witnessing a remarkable transformation, driven by the rapid advancements in endoscopy and gastroscopy. These cutting-edge technologies have revolutionized diagnostic precision and therapeutic interventions, elevating patient care to unprecedented heights.
Over the years, endoscopy has evolved from simple visual inspection to a realm of high-definition wonders. Advanced endoscopic imaging technologies, such as narrow-band imaging (NBI) and confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE), have empowered clinicians to detect subtle mucosal changes and characterize lesions with unparalleled precision. Early detection of gastrointestinal malignancies, such as colorectal cancer, has become a reality, positively impacting patient outcomes.
Gone are the days when surgery was the only option for treating gastrointestinal diseases. Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) have emerged as game-changers, enabling minimally invasive removal of early-stage gastrointestinal tumors. Flexible endoscopes equipped with high-definition cameras, innovative accessories, and improved sedation protocols have transformed the patient experience.
This week on STOP COVID DEATHS, we shall dive into the world of novel gastroscopy techniques, emphasizing how patient comfort and procedural efficiency are now at the forefront of gastroenterological practices. Our main speaker will be Dr. Peter P. Sy, who is the current Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology of the UP-PGH Department of Medicine while our reactor will be Dr. Mark Anthony A. De Lusong, who is the Assistant Division Chief and Head of Advanced Endoscopy at UP-PGH. The Synthesis and Closing Remarks will be delivered by Dr. Stella Marie L. Jose, who is the Head of the PGH Office of Expanded Education and Training.
Join us on a journey through the frontiers of endoscopy and gastroscopy as we explore the latest breakthroughs and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we can STOP C.O.V.I.D. DEATHS!
