Webinar #158
“Cancer Care in the Philippines: Towards Holistic Care Management”

There is an imperative need to establish dedicated cancer medical centers in the Philippines. Drawing inspiration from successful models across the globe, we will explore how such centers can serve as beacons of hope, offering holistic care to patients and their families. By examining these models through the prism of the Philippines’ unique healthcare context, we envision a blueprint that combines innovation and compassion to set new standards for cancer care.

No transformation is also complete without the active involvement of administrators, policymakers, and the community. Our webinar will provide a unique platform for stakeholders to come together, engage in dialogue, and chart a course towards change. Discussions will extend to policy reforms, financial considerations, and logistical challenges. Additionally, we reserve a space for the voices of the community, recognizing that their perspectives are invaluable in shaping a healthcare system that truly addresses their needs.

This week on STOP COVID DEATHS, we will celebrate the power of multidisciplinary teams in revolutionizing cancer care. Expertise from various domains converges to form a unified force, enabling a holistic approach to patient treatment. Through real-life case studies from the PGH Cancer Institute, we will highlight the tangible impact of such teams on patient outcomes. This webinar will not only enlighten healthcare professionals but will also inspire administrators and policymakers to envision a future where collaboration is key. Our main speaker will be Dr. Jorge Ignacio, who is the Chair of the PGH Cancer Institute while our reactor will be Maria Fatima “Girlie” Garcia-Lorenzo, who is the Co-Founder of both Kythe Foundation and the Philippine Alliance of Patient Organizations. The Synthesis and Closing Remarks will be delivered by Dr. Marie Dione Sacdalan, who is the PGH Coordinator for Training.

We urge you to mark your calendars and join us on this transformative expedition. The dawn of a new era in cancer care beckons, and it is through collective efforts that we shall illuminate the path to a brighter future for patients, caregivers, and the entire nation.

Together, we can STOP C.O.V.I.D. DEATHS!
