“May Sakit Ka Ba Sa Ugat?”
Evolution of Vascular Care at the Philippine General Hospital
Vascular care in the Philippines has come a long way, from rudimentary beginnings to the state-of-the-art practices in place today. Early vascular care was limited in scope and often rudimentary, with few specialized interventions available. However, over time, as the healthcare infrastructure improved and medical knowledge expanded, vascular care began to evolve.
One of the defining features of the evolution of vascular care in the Philippines is the integration of cutting-edge technology. State-of-the-art equipment and innovative procedures have become more accessible, allowing for earlier and more precise diagnosis and treatment. The use of advanced imaging techniques, minimally invasive procedures, and endovascular interventions has revolutionized the field, enabling healthcare workers to provide better care to their patients. These advancements not only enhance patient outcomes but also improve the overall healthcare landscape.
Our main presenters are Dr. Leoncio L. Kaw, Jr., who is a practicing vascular & endovascular surgeon from the Department of Surgery of the UP Philippine General Hospital, and Dr. Alduz S. Cabasa, who is a practicing thoracic & cardiovascular surgeon from the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery of the UP Philippine General Hospital. The Synthesis and Closing Remarks will be delivered by Dr. Stella Marie L. Jose, who is the Head of the Office of Expanded Education and Training at the UP Philippine General Hospital.
Join us as we chart the future of vascular care in the Philippines. Together, we can stop preventable deaths!
