Join UP ISC for a webinar on “The Next Generation of Builders: Empowering Youth to Create Bias-Aware AI” with Dr. Charibeth K. Cheng, Associate Dean of the College of Computer Studies and Senior Researcher at the Center for Language Technologies of De La Salle University.

With the rise in popularity of Large Language Models (LLMs), boundless opportunities for innovation are within the grasps of many individuals; however, this power comes with a challenge – the biases within these models. This talk will illustrate how systems trained on unrepresentative datasets can struggle with cultural and linguistic nuance.

Beyond identifying the issue at hand, solutions for this problem will also be discussed. This talk will show a practical path to mitigating bias and creating more reliable and trustworthy systems by demonstrating how AI agents can be designed to “act” with a “cultural compass” using custom tools and intelligent planning.
