About
The Philippine Local Government and Election Dataset Project endeavors to gather a comprehensive dataset encompassing the intricate elements of local governance in the Philippines from 1992 to 2022. It covers detailed electoral competition (candidates and winners) and LGU finances, which are particularly relevant to the upcoming 2025 elections. The roundtable seeks to:
Introduce, and get feedback on, the Philippine Local Government and Election Dataset Project, its scope, design, and goals.
Discuss the significance of granular local government and election data for policy making, research, and civic engagement.
Explore potential applications of the datasets for enhancing governance, promoting transparency, and empowering voters.
Identify challenges associated with data collection, standardization, and the creation of user-friendly platforms.
