“The Practice of Health Communication in the Philippines”

March 10, 2023 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Health Communication has proven its deeply ingrained function in society from the eradication of specific communicable diseases, promotion of family planning and population control, adherence to healthy lifestyle, and achievement of better health outcomes for the general population. But the COVID-19 pandemic has brought Health Communication front and center in health risk prevention and control.

To engage oneself in the study or practice of Health Communication is a gift and a responsibility for it allows us to stand in places where societal forces intersect to shape individual and community health and, at the same time, invites us to lend voices to the health needs of the people.

The COMM 156 (Health Communication) Classes of 2022-2023 and the BA Communication Arts (BACMA) Program of the Department of Humanities – UP Mindanao invites you to a Talk on “The Practice of Health Communication in the Philippines” by Ms. Algin V. Gultia, a BA Communication Arts Alumna (2015) and the Program Officer for Social and Behavior Change and Gender for the USAID and Johns Hopkins University REACHHEALTH Project in the country.

Join us on March 10, 2023 from 2:30-4:30 PM at the CHSS Mini-Theater or via Zoom using the details below:
