An inclusive classroom celebrates the richness and multiplicity of lived realities based on different identities like gender, sexuality, class, race, ethnicity, disability, and more. How, then, is inclusivity operated and negotiated in foreign language classes?
The UP Department of European Languages, in partnership with Bayi, Inc. and Babaylanes, Inc., invites you to a chika-workshop on inclusivity entitled ‘Towards an Inclusive Foreign Language Teaching and Learning.’ Together with Aella, Jap, and Jeff, we will appreciate ideas, theories, and chikas on intersectionality, language, gender, and sexuality, followed by a workshop to develop learning content and instructional materials in foreign language classes.
The event is open to the public. We highly encourage language teachers, students, and advocates to join! It will be held in person on March 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Room 1213, Pavilion 1, Palma Hall, UP Diliman.
Each participant must bring a reference material (book, module, online resource, etc.) for the workshop.
